Motherboard Maintenance Tips You Should Follow

Motherboard is arguably one of the most important components of your computer. That is because it directly contacts the processor, and helps it in interacting with other PC components to run your computer properly. Also, the motherboard has BIOS settings, which are essential for running your PC without any problems.

Since the motherboard is so important, it is a must to maintain your motherboard properly in the long run. This is the only way to get the most out of your motherboard investment, and to increase the lifespan of your gaming pc.

Clean The Motherboard Properly

Since the computer case has lots of openings, dust from the environment can make its way onto the motherboard, and can accumulate moisture from the environment to short circuit the motherboard. So, in order to keep excessive dust accumulation away, you should open the case of your computer at least once every month, and dry clean the motherboard properly.

Keep The Capacitors Away From Damage

Since the motherboard is the largest board in your computer, it has lots of components and capacitors attached to it. Usually, because of unfavorable conditions, the capacitors on your motherboard start swelling, and can even leak if the condition is not controlled properly.

Swelling capacitors can cause sudden temperature increases in your computer, and can make this system stop responding.

Keep The Fans Clean

The fans which keep the inside of your case, processor and GPU cool should also be cleaned properly. Depending on the area you live in, your environment might have lots of dust which usually gets onto these fans, and accumulates on them to gradually decrease their performance. Also, dust accumulation can cause the fans to sound louder than usual.

So, you should clean the fans in your computer properly at least once a month.
